Are you fit for the Network Life?
At Verizon, we want to learn more about who you are as a potential V Teamer! We use assessments as one way to do that.
For certain roles, we use assessments to ensure that your knowledge, skills, and abilities are a match to the role. Our assessments are specific to the job and are aligned to what is required to be successful in the position. Assessments may include content such as multiple-choice questions, personality inventories, simulations, or situational questions.
*All of our assessments comply with EEOC and OFCCP guidelines and follow the Uniform Guidelines for Employee Selection Procedures.
Accessing your Assessment
Once you complete your application, you will receive an email invitation with the subject line “Your Verizon Application: Assessment Required” with instructions for accessing your assessment.
You will be directed to log in to the Verizon Careers Candidate Home, where you will click a “Start Assessment” link. On the next page, click “Start Assessment” and the assessment will open in a separate browser tab. Please be sure you leave the Verizon Careers tab open while you complete the assessment. Closing this tab may result in your responses not being recorded.
As you progress through the assessment, your responses are saved each time you click Next or Submit on a section of the assessment. Once you’ve submitted an answer/page of answers by clicking the Next or Continue button, you are unable to go back to change a previous answer. Do not use your browser's back button to attempt to navigate to a previous page.
If you need to step away from the assessment during testing, you can. If you are in a timed section you must close the assessment's Internet browser window to ensure that the timer doesn't continue to count down. When you are ready to resume, login using the URL initially provided. You will be taken to the page where you previously stopped. If you are in a timed section, you will have the remaining time on the clock. You may also take a break during any of the instruction sequences since these are not timed.
These guidelines apply to the majority of our assessments. Once you have started taking your assessment, you may find different guidance from what was presented above. Please follow the instructions provided inside your specific assessment, as those will be the most accurate for your testing experience.
- Once you receive the assessment invitation, complete the assessment as soon as you can, or you may not qualify in time to be considered for an interview.
- Find a quiet place to complete the assessment that is free from distractions.
- Ensure you have a strong and stable internet connection.
- Review the instructions for each section of the assessment carefully. Doing so will ensure you understand the task and help you demonstrate your ability to perform the job.
- Carefully consider your answer to each question before responding.
- Respond to any questions about yourself or your work preferences candidly and honestly.
If you fail to achieve a passing score on an assessment, you will be eligible to retake it after a certain period of time has passed. Most (but not all) assessments have a retake eligibility period of six months. Once you successfully pass an assessment, your score for that assessment will remain on file, and you will generally not be required to complete it again. However, assessment content and/or standards may be updated on occasion to reflect current knowledge, skills, and abilities required for the position and this may necessitate testing again for any future applications.
Certain types of candidates may be exempt from completing the assessment, such as Verizon employees who are currently in the role.
Even if you believe you have already completed the assessment for a position, please follow the instructions in the “Accessing your Assessment” section above and click Start Assessment for each application to trigger the transfer of your existing score to each new application.
You will be informed of what assessments are required during the hiring process. Review your position of interest below to learn more information about the required assessment(s).
