As an Intern with Verizon’s Legal Internship Forward Track Program (VZ LIFT) for 1Ls, you’ll be working with some of the best attorneys in the legal field. This program introduces interns to the complex nature of in-house legal practice at Verizon.
Right from the start you’ll contribute to meaningful projects in our in-house legal department and will be exposed to a variety of work assignments from different practice areas. Additionally, you will be able to participate in many different kinds of learning experiences (such as executive sessions with legal and business leaders in the company, legal training workshops, practice area meetings, and collaborations with some of our partner law firms). What you learn during this internship will help you grow professionally and personally. After the internship is successfully completed, you’ll become part of our Intern Alumni Network, with the opportunity to remain connected with your assigned mentor, exposure to top law firms, and inclusion in our annual alumni events.
You’ll join us for the Intern Marquee event, a unique experience designed exclusively for all US interns. It's your chance to sharpen your professional development skills, build your connections through structured networking, and be inspired by our top executive speakers.
You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.
In this hybrid internship, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship may be based out of Basking Ridge, NJ, Washington D.C., Irving, TX, Rolling Meadows, IL or San Francisco, CA. Relocation assistance is not offered for this position.

You’ll need to have:
Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 2026 to August 2026 working a full-time schedule.
A Bachelor’s degree.
Current enrollment as a first-year student in a full-time Juris Doctor law degree program with a graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.
Willingness to work virtually and in-person, and to attend company events.
Willingness and ability to travel.
Willingness to work in Basking Ridge, NJ, Washington D.C., Irving, TX, Rolling Meadows, IL or San Francisco, CA. As a reminder, relocation assistance is not offered for this role.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.
Demonstrated strong verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management, and attention to detail.
Analytical and leadership skills.

Compensation
The base pay rate for this position is $36.00/hour.
The base pay rate for the Illinois location listed on this job requisition is $36.00 per hour.
