What you’ll be doing...

The work you'll be doing will support mission and business-critical applications within Verizon in VBG. You will be enhancing the customer experience and building world class solutions. Under the mentorship of senior applications staff, you will work as a team member on various projects to develop, implement and maintain this important application.

  • Executing full software development life cycle (SDLC) – concept, design, build, deploy, test, release and support.

  • Ensuring application development sprint cycle is on track and adjusting the plan to meet release timelines.

  • Acting independently, at the same time displaying excellent collaboration within and between various teams.

  • Understanding the domain knowledge and adapting to an agile environment.

  • Building reusable code and libraries for future use

  • Rapidly iterate on product and platform features by quickly understanding requirements and producing good quality code

  • Be a subject matter expert by identifying technology trends and collaborate with other team members to make recommendations based on the company’s needs

  • Be involved in all stages of development, from product ideation through architecture and execution

  • Help evolve the software development methodology based on agile and lean thinking, including impacting the development of coding conventions, documentation standards, testing procedures and quality assurance.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of technology standards, industry trends, emerging technologies, and software development best practices.

  • Ensure technical issues are quickly resolved and implement strategies and solutions to help reduce the likelihood of reoccurrence.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree with one or more of work experience.

  • Experience in Spring Boot, Spring Reactive and Reactjs.

  • Experience in SDLC life cycle

  • Experience in designing and building mid to large enterprise scale software solutions.

  • Experience in DevOps Tools - GIT, Jenkins, JIRA, Test Driven development - JUnit,  SonarCube.

  • Ability to build a positive, collaborative working environment that instills respect, trust, quality, and success as its core goals

  • Experience in using AI pair programming tools like Github Copilot.

  • Experience in addressing Security vulnerabilities of Sonar, Fortify, Blackduck.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with DevOps, Agile, Scrum and CI/CD pipeline.

  • Experience with Microservices, MQ, Public Cloud/AWS.

  • Exceptionally self-motivated, solid interpersonal skills and a good communicator.

  • Extremely detailed oriented, committed to excellence and takes unrelenting pride in the code you write

  • Excellent problem-solving skills, willingness to take ownership and risks, and enthusiasm in the face of technical challenges.

  • Strong analytical, debugging skills.
