Are you interested in a hands-on internship that values your knowledge and experiences, and is directly related to the skills needed to launch a full time career at Verizon? As a Wireline Network Field Operations Support intern, you’ll gain experience performing key roles and functions within our Field Network Operations team. In this role, you may:

  • Perform analysis on strategic initiatives to identify opportunities to reduce cost and drive efficiency in business operations.

  • Work in the field to gain fundamental understanding of the work performed by the field technicians who service our customers (Fios Installation, etc.). 

  • Evaluate business transformation initiatives and make recommendations on process or program improvements. 

  • Examine performance data to create greater impact to our field operations success. 

  • Utilize methodical and logical approaches to perform initial data quality analysis with mathematical skill and attention to detail.

  • Practice Wireline Operations and workforce practices and procedures including safety, fleet, customer operations, force planning, etc. 

  • Learn what it takes to install, maintain, and construct network and broadband services.

  • Collaborate with partner teams across the business to both learn and contribute to the completion of a project related to business priorities. 

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

In this hybrid internship, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid internship may be based out of Boston, MA. You’ll work closely with an assigned cohort of internship peers. If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

What we’re looking for...

You bring your commitment to top quality, an unwavering work ethic, curiosity and excitement to learn new things, along with strong communication, critical thinking, and teamwork skills. In return, we offer the huge satisfaction of building the Verizon Wireline Network from the ground up. 

You’ll need to have:

  • Ability to participate in our hybrid 10-week internship that takes place from June 2026 to August 2026 working a full-time schedule.

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelors or Masters degree program with a graduation date between December 2026 and June 2029.

  • At least six months of full or part time demonstrated work experience in any role, including campus work study positions. 

  • At least six months of demonstrated leadership experience (clubs, work, class projects, etc).

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  • Willing and able to travel.

  • Willing and able to relocate.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Demonstrated strong organizational, analytical and critical thinking skills.

  • Demonstrated strong quantitative, written, and verbal communication skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic environment and meet critical deadlines.

  • Experience in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite.

  • Ability to create effective presentations.

  • Familiarity with business and data analytics.

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree majoring in Business Management, Construction Management, Engineering, Engineering Management, Field Operations, or related.

  • Telecommunication experience.

Compensation

The base pay range for this position is between $23.00/hour-$31.00/hour. The base pay rate will vary depending on your role and class year.

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
