Global Real Estate (GRE) is an enabler of the business, strategically partnering with all Verizon Teams to ensure their success in meeting the business needs of today and the goals of tomorrow. The GRE organization operates over 100 million square feet of real estate across the world with an annual energy budget of over $1B.
We're looking for a strategic thinker to join our team, someone who can not only envision the future of Verizon's real estate but also build the operational blueprint to get us there. You'll play a critical role in shaping our long-term strategy for the built environment, ensuring we're ready to enable the future of work.
This is a role for a leader who thrives on both big-picture thinking and the nitty-gritty of process improvement. As a Senior Manager of Strategic Planning and Operations, you will be the architect of our future, developing multi-year plans for our global real estate portfolio while simultaneously driving operational excellence and efficiency across the division.
Long-Term Strategic Planning: Lead the development and execution of the Global Real Estate team's long-term strategic plan, aligning real estate objectives with Verizon's overall business and network strategy.
Process Optimization and Improvement: Identify and analyze existing business processes within the division to find opportunities for improvement, leading initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance operational effectiveness.
Operational Blueprinting: Design and implement the operational frameworks, workflows, and governance models necessary to execute the strategic plan, ensuring seamless and efficient operations across all functions.
Performance Management: Define, track, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure the success of strategic initiatives and operational improvements, providing data-driven insights to leadership.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Act as a central connector, working closely with stakeholders in finance, legal, network operations, and other business units to ensure alignment and secure the resources needed to achieve strategic goals.
Change Management: Champion and lead change management efforts for new processes and initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption and buy-in from all levels of the organization.
Cross-functional Planning: Work closely with Project Engineers, GRE Facility Managers, Network Operations , Network Engineering, Sourcing and Legal to deliver successful projects across all programs
You must be currently enrolled in the MIT LGO degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.
In this hybrid role, you’ll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager. This hybrid role may be open to Verizon Hubs: Basking Ridge, NJ (NYC area); Manhattan, NY (NYC area); Irving, TX (Dallas area); Alpharetta, GA (Atlanta area); Ashburn, VA (DC area); Boston, MA; Cary, NC (Raleigh-Durham area); Irvine, CA (Los Angeles area); and Lake Mary, FL (Orlando area) If relocation is required, relocation assistance may be available.

You’ll need to have:
Current enrollment in an MBA or Master's degree program with a focus in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, Business Administration, or a related field with a completion date between December 2025 and June 2026.
This position is limited to students enrolled at Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Sloan School of Management who are currently enrolled in the MIT Leaders for Global Operations (LGO) Program.
4+ years of progressive responsibility within Business, Operations, Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Construction Management, Project Management, Program Management, or a related field.
Willingness to travel and work in an assigned Verizon Hub.
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Demonstrated problem solving ability and advanced analytical skills.
Proven ability at engaging and influencing functional leaders and stakeholders.
Experience in strategic projects and change management, ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Motivated, results-driven attitude with excellent communications skills

Compensation
The starting salary for this position based on a full time schedule is $165,000 annually.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $98,500.00 - $188,000.00.
