What you’ll be doing...

You’ll be working on the Navy's Next Generation Enterprise Network (NGEN) Service Management Integration & Transport (SMIT) program, supporting the overall contract, as well as the new solution, Naval Enterprise Voice and Video Service (NEVVS). You will be managing all aspects of the implementation tasks for the new product's projects and troubleshooting along the way. You’ll have a key role in the NGEN SMIT PMO which will be redefining our Navy customer's experience. Leidos is the Prime for the NGEN SMIT contract, but Verizon and our subcontractor's are integral to the success of the program. The Verizon Federal PMO brings new ideas to life every day to connect people, places and things in new and meaningful ways.

  • Managing innovative new product projects for the Navy/Leidos from start to finish.

  • Planning, anticipating issues and adjusting to meet objectives.

  • Keeping track of bugs and fixes in the development and testing phase.

  • Detailing all phases of the project including meeting minutes, metrics and reporting.

  • Driving the project while ensuring on-time delivery of the NGEN SMIT services

  • Accurately accounting for billing of NEVVS and all NGEN SMIT contract services

What we’re looking for...

Under general direction of the NGEN SMIT Program Manager, the Project Manager oversees high-priority projects, which often require considerable resources and high levels of functional integration. Takes projects from original concept through final implementation with responsibilities for assembling project team, assigning individual responsibilities, identifying appropriate resources needed, and developing schedule to ensure timely completion of project. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project, including customer stakeholders, end users, distributors, and vendors. Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables. May communicate with a Verizon leadership team to provide the status of specific projects related to the NGEN SMIT Program.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.

  • Managed programs and/or user experience design

  • PMP and Six Sigma certifications preferred

  • Ability to maintain a Secret level clearance

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Customer service experience with internal and external clients

  • Translated complex ideas to be relevant and understood by various functions and levels

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
