What you’ll be doing…
The Omnichannel Analytics team, as part of the EDAI organization, delivers data models, insights, and guidance that Verizon business leaders use to determine distribution strategy and understand outcomes. As a Senior Engineer of Distribution Strategy Analytics you will be driving the enhancement of existing and development of new geospatial data products that are required to shape VCG’s distribution and placement strategy for physical distribution.
In this role, you will work within a true big data environment, solving complex technical problems alongside other subject-matter specialists. You will partner with various teams to drive decisions related to Verizon’s distribution strategy, ensuring that quantitative analysis and empirical thinking guide the development of our strategy and the deployment of our retail footprint.
Build and improve geospatial data products that will guide Verizon’s distribution strategy
Engineer associated distribution models using standardized programming language (SQL, Python, R) into platforms of insight
Develop algorithms to feed data insights regarding new distribution initiatives
Manage and enhance automated decision systems that leverage varied data from cross stakeholder teams within the Consumer organization
Lead technical projects, organizing qualitative measurements, timelines, and addressing potential delays.
What we’re looking for…
We are looking for a highly motivated, self-driven team player with a strong product ownership focus and experience in data science, analytics, and reporting. The ideal candidate will have proven success in developing decision-guiding models and data products for cross-functional teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision. The ability to anticipate needs, think outside the box, and deliver accurate results is essential.
You'll need to have:
Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
Four or more years of relevant work experience.
Experience in Information Systems, Analytics/Business Intelligence, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, or in a related field.
Expert experience in data mining and geospatial analytics
Skilled in using python libraries such as GeoPandas, NetworkX, Shapely, and Folium.
Hands-on experience with GIS Software (ArcGIS Pro or QGIS)
Proficiency with SQL Server, Teradata SQL, and GCP (Python and Alteryx are pluses)
Work experience in, or highly relevant to, retail and/or distribution strategy in the wireless industry.
Ability to deliver in a time-sensitive and ever-changing business environment and to work independently with minimal supervision
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
MBA or an M.S. in a relevant field.
Program management, leadership, and strategic planning experience.
Experience investigating and solving complex technical problems and data discrepancies.
Proven track record of effectively managing and building consensus across multiple teams/stakeholders.
Proficiency with MS Office tools and Google Suite, and an ability to present research and data in a compelling and effective manner.
Excellent executive presentation skills.
A background in management consulting or strategy development.
