What you’ll be doing... 

In this role as a Princ Engr in the Tech Strategy & Planning team for TSGI-Cloud and Enterprise Architecture team, you'll be architecting for multiple programs designed to help GTS move towards its strategic objectives. You will be a key contributor in planning and building Engineering Excellence deliverables, and ensuring the smooth and successful execution of initiatives by coordinating with cross-functional teams. Your expertise will help us solve complex problems and find unique solutions to optimize the development landscape of our organization. Your responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

• Designing, building software systems and technology solutions for the Engineering Excellence pillar.

• Engaging with Technology, Business stakeholders and Senior Leadership to drive product roadmap, define the priorities and deliver products with best quality for a high scale use.

• Working closely with the Architects and cross functional teams to ensure overall architecture and design are aligned with Industry’s best practices.

• Understanding of the Artificial Intelligence (AI) landscape including Generative AI and Agentic AI to drive purposeful innovation and building solutions for automating SDLC phases.

• Mentoring a high performing team of engineers responsible for building software systems and technology solutions for the Engineering Excellence initiatives

• Collaborating with external suppliers and managing their integration with Verizon on required initiatives.

You take pride in your work and get a lot of satisfaction from meeting and exceeding the expectations of your stakeholders. 

You’ll need to have: 

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

• Six or more years of relevant work experience.

• Software design and development experience in building Web Applications

• Experience in diverse technology stack including Python, Micro-services, React JS and Micro Frontends.

• Experience in managing large applications and delivery of multiple projects in the development space by providing technical leadership.

• Familiarity with Gen AI Models (OpenAI, Gemini AI, Vertex.AI, Mistral, LlaMa, etc.,) and finetune based on domain specific needs

• Experience in building solutions using LLM, NLP, Transformers and Neural Networks would be preferred.

• Strong independent and creative research skills necessary to keep up with the latest trends in advanced analytics and Gen AI

• Experience in leading software development teams encompassing the responsibilities including performance management, employee engagement, training and career development

• Identify new process opportunities, while quickly assessing feasibility.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills able to effectively communicate technical details to a non-technical audience as well as produce clear and concise written documentation

Even better if you have 

• Familiarity with Graph DB Concepts

• Familiarity with one or more Data Platforms - CloudEra, Snowflake, DataBricks etc.

• Experience in text processing, Vector databases and embedding models.

• Research, recommend and implement best practices of LLM and NLP systems that can scale
