The Finance Organization

At Verizon, we are building a world-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) organization. We have begun a comprehensive program to streamline processes, improve systems, realign the organization and add opportunities for personal skill-building and professional growth. The Business Unit facing positions offer opportunities to drive better business partnering and insights, while growing your FP&A leadership and interpersonal skills. You are considered a business partner and your contributions will make a difference. This position is part of the VCG FP&A Strategic Planning & Reporting team responsible for preparing financial and economic analysis for senior management related to our Postpaid Mobile Cost of Acquisition (COA) & Cost of Retention (COR). The position plays a key role in identifying & illustrating the underlying cost drivers, as well as the expected margin associated with those transactions.

This role will be a key member of the VCG HQ Reporting team team responsible for the development of financial planning, analysis and tracking of business profitability KPI’s for the VCG business. You will leverage a thorough understanding of Verizon’s financials and business operations in order to :

  • Leading the Mobile Cost of Acquisition (COA) and Cost of Retention (COR) financial analysis and insights; including month end review, CV and Outlook development

  • Responsible for managing the COA/R models and for being the subject matter expert for the logic and data flows

  • Managing the COA/R channel analysis to deliver business intelligence and strategic recommendations to the CSO, CRO, & CFO leadership teams

  • Collaborating closely with Promo team to deliver real-time promo reporting and to expand data insights

  • Partnering closely with VGS to drive quality assurance to improve our profitability models by refining allocation methodologies, ensuring input quality, and delivering accurate business assumptions

  • Assessing the impact of strategic financial decisions and presenting recommendations to leadership

  • Leading a small team to be creative, curious, and in pursuit of continuous improvement in order to provide leadership with actionable insights

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Eight or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Management experience.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A Master's in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, or Economics.

  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).

  • High degree of strategic and analytical capability, including the ability to analyze a large amount of data.

  • Strong strategic skills, with the ability to identify and assess key points, implications and recommendations; proven ability to structure business case around a high-level strategic vision.

  • Knowledge of FASB and SEC requirements, Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, tax reporting and accounting practices and International Financial Reporting Standards.

  • Advanced understanding of report query and design.

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.

  • Demonstrated experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis and project management.

  • Familiar with Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.

  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.

The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part-time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.

The annual salary range for the location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $104,500.00 - $201,000.00.

The annual salary range for the Colorado location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $115,000.00 - $201,000.00.

The annual salary range for the Illinois location(s) listed on this job requisition based on a full-time schedule is: $115,000.00 - $201,000.00.
