What you’ll be doing…
Verizon is currently seeking a highly motivated candidate with a background in Privacy Compliance to join the Privacy Operations team. This position will lead the Verizon Privacy Operations team that ensures the delivery of new compliance programs along with continued compliance operations.  This includes management of highly specialized and technical privacy compliance requirements across our business units with an emphasis on domestic, consumer-focused privacy laws and regulations.

• You will be directly working on preventing privacy threats, working directly with senior level lawyers and broader Verizon teams to ensure a clear understanding of the ongoing privacy regulations and Verizon’s legal interpretation.

• Help negotiate the compliance solutions with legal and the business.

• Manage privacy mailboxes. Lead reporting and key performance metrics creation, monitoring, and operations.

• Monitor and respond to inquiries related to individual rights requests, data privacy laws, and other global privacy regulations.  

• Review and assess the nature of inquiries, escalate critical issues and collaborate with appropriate privacy partners to ensure timely closure.  

• Partner with Legal, Compliance, Privacy Operations, IT, and Security to address privacy concerns and support regulatory compliance efforts.  

• Maintain records of processed requests, track response timelines and generate reports for compliance audits.  

• Communicate project status and issues to empower informed decision making.

• You will do all of this for several laws that are in the process of going into effect at the same time.

• Continuously monitoring Verizon’s active privacy compliance solutions, identifying any issues and creating and driving highly complex and often technical remediation activities or repairs as needed.

• Owning and managing the privacy mailboxes across the enterprise and partnering with legal on responses.

• Partnering with legal on inquiry response tracking and reporting.

• Driving and owning the delivery of solutions in partnership with legal, GTS and VBG for reporting and key performance metrics.

• Working in an environment of extremely tight deadlines to ensure compliance.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience. 

• Four or more years of relevant work experience.

• Experience in privacy compliance and operations. 

• Experience in senior level stakeholder management.

• Experience in program and project management.

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform, GSuite, SmartSheets, project management software solutions and presentations using PowerPoint.

Even better if you have one or more of the following: 

• MBA.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent technical acumen to understand high level technology impacts.

• Privacy certifications (CIPP, CIPM).

• Experience in Data Governance, Data Management, Business Analysis.

• Experience in Business Process Improvement.

• Knowledge of Cloud Data Management Controls (EDM Council) Framework.
