What you’ll be doing...

You will lead the processes of gathering, analyzing, and sharing information about cyber threats to protect Verizon and our customers from attacks. You and your teams will be responsible for understanding threat actors, their motives, tactics, techniques, and procedures, and leveraging this information to enhance Verizon’s security defenses. You will be responsible for managing a team of employees, including making recommendations regarding the hiring, termination, advancement, performance, promotion or any other change of status of team members. You will assess employee performance, hold employees accountable, take appropriate corrective actions, and train and provide ongoing direction and feedback to team members.
 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Managing threat intelligence information from collection through investigation.

  • Responsible handling of sensitive threat intelligence information according to TLP designation.

  • Maintaining quality working relationships with Verizon’s threat intelligence partners.

  • Leading teams through thorough evaluation and investigation of applicable threats to determine impact to Verizon and our customers.

  • Understanding and communicating the current threat landscape and associated risks to executive leadership.

  • Collaborating with internal Network Security teams and peers to convey substantive findings from threat investigations.

  • Keeping up to date on emerging global threat activity from both state and nonstate actors and the threats they pose to telecommunications infrastructure.

  • Ensuring the organization meets the metrics set forth by leadership including administrative, auditory, and KPIs.

What we’re looking for…

You’ll need to have…

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience in cybersecurity.

  • Six or more years of relevant experience required, demonstrated through one or a combination of work and/or military experience, or specialized training.

  • Four or more years of experience leadership of cybersecurity teams.

  • Experience with networking technologies and protocols.

  • Experience with netflow and other network telemetry data. 


Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a high-intensity production-driven and dynamic environment.

  • Extensive analytical, critical thinking, process improvement, and judgment skills.

  • Good communication skills (verbal and written), organization skills, and time management skills.

  • Experience in one or more of the following areas: network security, incident response, forensic data collection, cybersecurity threat intel analysis

Where you’ll be working

In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes working from home and a minimum of three days per week in the office, which will be set by your manager. Employees are responsible for maintaining compliance with hybrid work policies.
