What you’ll be doing...
In the Principal Data Science Engineer role, you’ll lead projects that develop and perform complex analyses using Big Data technologies. The focus of the role is analyzing telecommunication data and building models to understand and predict their behavior. You will work closely with the business owner, product owners, scrum masters, engineering management, architects, QA and fellow developers as part of a cross-functional agile team. Your work will help us meet our customers’ needs and make it even easier for them to do business with us.
Your responsibilities will include:
Performing analyses and creating data models to find actionable insights.
Developing systems, applications, and visualizing the findings.
Conducting and guiding others through system usage assessments.
Ensuring data quality and promoting process improvement.
Extract, analyze and interpret large amounts of data from a range of sources, using algorithmic, data mining, artificial intelligence, machine learning and statistical tools, in order to find actionable insights and to make it accessible to businesses;
Working independently and proactively to discover, understand problems and propose solutions
Communicate technical information on different levels and to non-technical audiences
Take pride in your ability to share your considerable knowledge with your peers.
Work closely with your business to identify issues and use data to propose solutions for effective decision making;
Maintain clear and coherent communication, both verbal and written, to understand data needs and report results;
Create clear reports that tell compelling stories about how customers or clients work with the business;
Writing application notes/documentation;
Working in an agile cross-functional team, reporting to the team leader.
You’ll need to have:
Professionalism and a “can-do” attitude to work;
Relevant university degree (electrical/computer engineering or computer science or mathematics or physics);
Knowledge and understanding of mathematical modeling and statistical data analysis methods
Experience with Data Warehousing
Working experience in Python, SQL;
Knowledge of major big data framework (Relational databases, ElasticSearch, MongoDB, Hive, etc.);
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills;
Working proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
Knowledge of Cloud based big data solutions (AWS or others)
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
Experience with Business Intelligence tools (QuickSight, Tableau, LookerStudio, Spotfire or similar);
MSc or PhD in a relevant field
6+ years of relevant experience
Experience in agile development methodologies
Knowledge of state-of-the-art in Data Science
