What you’ll be doing...
Within Verizon’s Corporate Strategy team, the Strategy Development and Execution team works with key stakeholders across the organization to develop long-term strategies, drive portfolio evolution, and increase shareholder value. Through rigorous analysis and a structured process, we answer critical questions for Verizon’s executive team, Board of Directors, and other Verizon stakeholders.
The primary focus of this role will be on developing strategic insights for the company through analysis and synthesis of first party data and third-party research, with a focus on consumer insights and competitive/industry trends. We are looking for an analytical strategist and creative thinker who is excited by discovering the power of vast amounts of data and using that information to tell compelling stories for our employees, customers, and externally. In addition, this role will be responsible for ad hoc strategic analysis projects, so the ability to make data-based recommendations, challenge orthodoxies, and collaborate as a part of cross functional teams is also critical.
Performing research and analysis, driving strategic insights for the company, with a focus on consumer insights - market conditions, competition (insights, sales, marketing), and products
Being comfortable with manipulating, evaluating, and assessing large datasets
Communicating with subject matter experts, senior leaders, and external partners, creating a cohesive narrative while supporting long term business goals
Developing perspectives on key industry challenges and potential opportunities through competitive analysis and market research
Leveraging insights and analysis to strengthen Verizon's brand positioning and strategy
Crafting compelling presentations and white papers to senior leadership at Verizon to articulate findings and strategies and drive consistent messaging
You’ll need to have:
Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience
Six or more years of relevant work experience
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
MBA or working equivalent
Past analytical experience in fields such as corporate strategy, corporate development, strategy consulting, investment banking, or data analytics
Background/interest in brand strategy or market insights
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Ability to learn, adapt and synthesize information quickly
Knowledge of global telecom issues: technologies, value chain, supply chain, ecosystems, players, industry dynamics
Knowledge of consumer trends
Robust communication skills (presentation, written and verbal)
Excellent quantitative / data analysis skills
Comfort working in ambiguous environments

For part-timers, your coverage will vary as you may be eligible for some of these benefits depending on your individual circumstances.If you are hired into a California, Colorado, Connecticut, Nevada, New York, Rhode Island or Washington work location, the compensation range for this position is between $133,000.00 and $248,000.00 based on a full-time schedule. The salary will vary depending on your location and confirmed job-related skills and experience. This is an incentive based position with the potential to earn more. For part time roles, your compensation will be adjusted to reflect your hours.
